Vegas Rescue Dog Watched Her Puppies Get Homes — Now She Needs One Too

Patience, a gentle Rhodesian Ridgeback–Hound mix nearing her eighth birthday, has been waiting for a family at SNARL since February 21, 2022.

In the coming weeks, she will quietly cross a milestone few dogs ever should: four full years in rescue care. It is an almost unthinkable stretch for a dog who has never given anyone a reason to give up on her.

She arrived frightened and pregnant, unsure of what would come next. What followed was resilience. Patience safely delivered her puppies, raised them with care, and watched every one of them leave for loving homes.

When the final goodbye was said, she was the one left behind.

A Dog Who Did Everything Right

Patience is not a “problem” dog. She isn’t unstable, aggressive, or unlovable. Those closest to her are unequivocal about that.

Thanks to an extraordinary long-term foster, she has had something many long-stay dogs never receive: consistency.

With structure, advocacy, and respect for her boundaries, Patience has been able to decompress and show who she truly is.

She is fully house-trained, understands her basic commands, and is highly treat-motivated. Thoughtful and observant, she forms deep bonds once trust is earned, and when it is, her loyalty is absolute.

Protective By Nature, Devoted By Choice

Patience is naturally protective of her home and her people, which is why she requires a female-only household with someone who understands safety, routine, and clear structure.

In the right environment, she thrives. She does well with other dogs and has been successful around respectful children.

While she hasn’t lived with cats recently, she previously showed curious, playful behavior, making slow, supervised introductions a realistic possibility.

This isn’t about finding a perfect dog. It’s about finding the right match.

What She’s Really Asking For

Patience doesn’t need chaos or constant stimulation. She needs calm. She needs trust. She needs someone who understands the quiet joy of a dog who chooses you, every single day.

After nearly four years of waiting, she is asking for just one thing: a chance to stop waiting.
